India faces a blood donation deficit of 1-2 million units annually, collecting only about 11-12 million units despite needing around 14.6 million units yearly.

• Emergency Trauma Care: Immediate blood transfusions are crucial for patients with fierce accidents or severe injuries.
• Surgical Procedures: Surgeries, especially those with a high risk of blood loss, depend heavily on a reliable blood supply.
• Chronic Disease Management: Conditions like sickle cell and severe anaemia frequently require transfusions for better quality of life.

What can we do?

Apart from the usual way of storing blood in blood banks, we contribute as follows:

• Walking Blood Banks: Mobilizing pre-screened donors within the community to provide blood during emergencies ensures immediate availability.
• Aerial Drones: Using drones to transport blood to remote and inaccessible areas reduces delivery times and saves lives.
• Digital Inventory Systems: Some platforms may provide real-time tracking of blood inventories, enabling efficient allocation and reducing shortages.
• Community Engagement: Effective solutions require a combination of community involvement by Local Donor Drives & Awareness Campaigns
