What Is Individual Travel Insurance?

An individual travel insurance policy is a type of insurance that covers a single individual against unexpected losses and risks when travelling. It covers many issues, from minor inconveniences like missed flights, delays, and cancellations to serious problems like illnesses, injuries, loss of documents, passports, etc.
When you buy an individual travel insurance policy, it helps you reduce financial risks arising from unforeseen situations. With a travel insurance plan, you can avail yourself of 24x7 emergency assistance to get advice and help with arranging medical treatment and repatriation home. This means you can travel peacefully and concentrate on your adventure and exploration.

The individual travel insurance plan reimburses or directly covers expenses incurred due to events (as insured). Whether you are travelling for a vacation or business, travel insurance is a must. It is a crucial investment for comprehensive protection.

Why Do You Need Individual Travel Insurance?

Individual travel insurance offers financial protection for solo travellers, covering unexpected expenses and emergencies that may arise during a trip. Understanding the importance of individual travel insurance ensures you are safeguarded against unforeseen situations, such as medical emergencies, trip cancellations, lost baggage and other unexpected events.

This type of insurance provides peace of mind, allowing you to enjoy your journey without the stress of potential financial burdens.

Location-Specific Requirements

Customised Coverage

Individual travel insurance is tailored to meet the specific needs of solo travellers. It offers coverage for medical emergencies, trip delays and lost or stolen belongings, ensuring comprehensive protection.

Medical Emergencies

One of the primary benefits of individual travel insurance is coverage for medical expenses, including hospitalisation, doctor visits, and emergency medical evacuation. This coverage is crucial to avoid high healthcare costs abroad.

Trip Cancellation or Interruption

Another travel insurance benefit is that it reimburses non-refundable expenses, such as flights and accommodation, if you need to cancel or shorten your trip due to covered reasons like illness or natural disasters.

Lost or Delayed Baggage

Individual travel insurance compensates for personal belongings if your baggage is lost, stolen, or delayed, providing financial support to purchase essential items while you wait.

Travel Delays and Missed Connections

Individual travel insurance covers additional costs like accommodation and meals if your trip is delayed or you miss a connecting flight, ensuring unforeseen delays do not financially impact you.

24/7 Assistance Services

Reliance individual travel insurance round-the-clock access to emergency support, medical referrals, and travel assistance, providing help whenever you need it during your trip.
