Given below is a list of all that’s not covered in our personal accident insurance policy:

  • Any pre-existing injury or physical condition
  • Any claim for death or disablement due to war-like occurrences, invasion, civil war, rebellion, etc.
  • Any claim arising out of self-harm, suicide or attempts of suicide
  • A breach of law with criminal intent
  • Any claim arising out of hernia, viral or bacterial infections (except for pyogenic infection resulting from an accidental cut or wound)
  • Persons serving in any branch of military, navy, air force and paramilitary forces except during peacetime
  • Air travel in unauthorised airplanes, airports, air routes, etc.
  • Persons involved in mining, tunnelling, oil rigs, ship crew services, etc.
  • Claims arising out of participation in hazardous adventure sports like rock climbing, rafting, horse racing, scuba diving, etc. (unless the Adventure Sports cover is opted for)
  • Claims arising out of radiation due to nuclear fuel, nuclear weapons material, etc.
  • Any persons suffering loss due to wilfully participating in illegal acts
  • Any persons travelling to countries against the recommendation of the relevant Indian authority of that of the country of travel

For example, you can customise the policy to cover hospitalisation or OPD visits due to an accident, cover your overseas travel, get your loans and EMIs paid off for a limited time, take care of your parents if you lose your income due to an accident and more.

  • Personal accident insurance financially covers you or your family in case the insured is disabled or dies due to an accident. The insured could be you or your dependants. The kind of disability from an accident could either be partial or total. For example, disablement could be loss of both eyes or one eye, loss of all limbs or any one limb, loss of hearing in one or both ears, etc.

  • Personal Accident insurance covers you for accident-related perils that lead to hospitalisation. Health insurance covers you for a variety of other medical emergencies including accident-related ones.

  • Any address outside the insured’s city of residence will be considered for Repatriation. The benefit covers transportation from the place of death to the burial or cremation ground, or to the insured's residence.

  • No, the Loan Protect option can only be added at the time of renewal.

  • No, non-earning members cannot take individual policies and can only be covered with an earning member.

  • Yes, provided the loans are taken within India from entities regulated by the RBI. The maximum amount payable is limited to the base SI or the outstanding principal loan amount, whichever is lower.

  • After PTD, the customer cannot renew the policy. If the PPD claim results in 50% disability, the customer cannot renew the policy.

  • No, reinstatement is allowed on partial utilisation as well.

  • Yes, a single private air-conditioned room.

  • 50% and above is considered “Specified Severity.”

  • Homicidal incidents can be considered as accidents, subject to no possibility of suicide (self-inflicted injury).

  • Yes, housewives can be covered if the proposer is an income holder. The housewife will get 50% of the base SI.

  • The payment will be drawn in the name of the financier.

  • The base covers include Accidental Death (including disappearance and common carrier), Permanent Total Disablement, Permanent Partial Disablement, Repatriation of Mortal Remains, and Funeral Expenses.

  • Non-earning members are eligible for up to 50% of the earning member’s SI.

  • No, you cannot get the Loan Protector benefit if you already have insurance for that loan.

  • For example, if the loan amount is ₹10,00,000, the maximum limit is 2% of ₹10,00,000, which is ₹20,000 per month. The insured will receive either ₹20,000 or the outstanding EMI amount, whichever is lower, for a maximum of 3 months.

  • Step 1: The renewal notice will indicate the waiver.

    Step 2: The claimant should inform the company if the waiver is not mentioned.

  • Mosquito bites are not covered. Covered animal bites include snake bites, scorpion bites, and injuries from poisonous animals, reptiles, or insects.

  • For a TTD claim, proof of gainful income must be provided at the time of the claim. The change in income will not affect the eligibility for the claim. Required documents include:

    • The original treating medical practitioner’s certificate confirming the disability.
    • The original hospital discharge summary (where applicable).
    • Relevant medical, investigation reports, inpatient or consultation treatment papers as needed.
    • Leave/absence certificate from the employer (if employed).
    • Medical practitioner’s certificate confirming the injury and advising rest/unfitness to work for a specified number of days.
    • Fitness certificate issued by the treating doctor.
  • The higher claim amount will be payable.

  • No, the coverage will cease in case of an AD or PTD claim.

  • No, the benefit will not be given.

  • Yes, the claim cannot be repudiated based on these grounds.

  • No, it is not required.

  • The amount will be settled to the nominee or legal heir.

  • The beneficiary will receive ₹1 Crore.
