What is Reliance Comprehensive Car Insurance

Benefits of Buying
Reliance Comprehensive Car Insurance

Having comprehensive insurance for your car is a responsible thing to do since it covers your vehicle and your fellow driver’s car too. To summarise, we’ve listed the benefits of buying a comprehensive car insurance:

Provides own damage cover

Meeting an accident is something that almost every car owner experiences. So, it’s better to be prepared for the eventuality with coverage that protects your vehicle. This is available in a comprehensive car insurance policy. You get covered for expenses to repair your car if it gets damaged in an accident, in a theft, by riots or an act of malice. Comprehensive insurance also covers damages due to natural disasters like earthquakes, landslides, floods, cyclones, etc.

Covers third-party liabilities

Another important facet of our comprehensive car insurance policy is the third-party cover. This covers you for expenses that arise out of damages caused to someone else, or a third party. Damages include vehicular damage, property damage and even death or injuries caused to a third party. Not only is this cover important to have so that you can protect your fellow drivers but it’s also mandatory by law under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

No-claim Bonus (NCB)

There’s a reward for buying comprehensive coverage for your car. This comes in the form of the No-claim bonus, or NCB, and it gets activated if you don’t make a claim for the entire policy year. By successfully going claim-free in a policy year, you get a discount on your premium when it’s time for renewal. And every year you go claim-free, your NCB increases (up to 50%). It’s an added reward for safe driving.

Has useful optional add-ons

Having comprehensive coverage gives you the benefit of not only protecting your and other vehicles but also the option to include several useful add-ons. With Reliance Comprehensive Car Insurance, you have more than 10 add-ons that will improve your coverage on the road. Some of the add-ons include NCB Retention Cover, Engine Protect, Nil Depreciation, Consumables Cover, Key Protect, EMI Protection and more.

Personal Accident Cover

Our car comprehensive insurance policy also provides a safeguard in case something happens to you in an accident. For example, if you get injured in an accident while driving your car and it leads to loss of eyesight or your limbs then the Personal Accident cover will compensate you for the loss. Also, this cover provides financial compensation in case an accident leads to a death. The maximum coverage available is Rs.15 Lakh.

Popular Add-on Covers available in
Reliance Comprehensive Car Insurance

Comprehensive insurance coverage from Reliance General Insurance has several useful add-ons that will boost your coverage. All these add-ons are made specially to protect different parts of your vehicle that are expensive to replace if they were damaged. Here’s a list of all the add-ons we offer under our comprehensive car insurance cover:

Engine Protector

The engine is synonymous with being the heart of a car. Therefore it’ll cost you dearly to replace a vital part like that. But if you have the Engine Protector add-on, the cost of repairs is covered if your engine gets damaged due to water ingression or leakage of lubricants. This will also cover the cost of repairing the gearbox and differential parts.

Consumables Cover

An accident or a natural disaster can lead to significant damage to your car. And when you get it repaired, the cost of replacing consumables like nuts & bolts, engine oil, lubricants, gearbox oil, washers, brake oil, etc. form a large part of the expenses. But you don’t have to worry about that if you have the Consumables Cover to take care of all those expenses. It’s a must-have add-on.

Nil Depreciation

Your car faces the slow and inevitable road down to losing its value over time. Not to you of course but according to the market. This is called depreciation and it plays a major role in how much of your repair expenses will be covered if you got into a car accident. But if you have the Nil Depreciation add-on, depreciation will not be deducted on parts that are fibre and glass (excluding tubes and tyres) and the full repair amount will be covered when you make a claim. This add-on works well if you have a new car and driving in a place with a lot of traffic.

Key Protect

“Where are those darn keys” is a sentence you may have uttered at some point in your life. And sadly sometimes the answer you get to that question is “it’s lost”. If this happens to your car keys, it will be expensive to replace. But if you have the Key Protect Cover available in our comprehensive insurance for cars, then the cost of replacing lost or stolen car keys will be reimbursed. Also, if the door locks are damaged because a burglar attempts to break in, we will reimburse the cost of replacing the locks.

Pay As You Drive

Pay As You Drive is an add-on that allows you to pay premiums solely based on the number of kilometers you opt to drive. That means you’re getting all the benefits of a comprehensive policy but at a lower price. This is a huge advantage if you own two cars or if you use your car infrequently.

NCB Retention Cover

The no-claim bonus (NCB) is a huge bonus on your comprehensive policy. But you can lose it if you make a claim that is even a small amount. So, if you want to protect your no-claim bonus, all you need is the NCB Retention Cover. This add-on maintains the current applicable NCB at the time of renewal even if you made a claim in the previous policy year.

EMI Protection

If you get into a car accident that results in your vehicle getting stuck in repairs for more than 30 days, then you can get your car loan EMIs paid for up to 3 months with the EMI Protection add-on. Just remember to head for repairs at an authorised network garage to avail of this add-on.
