ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 – Travel to England and Support Team India

Indians and cricket go hand in hand. Indians are known for their devotion, strategy, and dedication. The game of cricket involves it all. It takes time, practice, and hard work to master the skills of cricket. Saying cricket is popular in Indians is an understatement- it is more of a religion and Indians worship cricketers like a god. The sport is played in every corner of the country. However, in the recent years' other sports like football, basketball, hockey, tennis, wrestling, shooting, boxing, etc. have gained popularity but, none of them touched the reputation of cricket in India by far.

Every time M.S Dhoni lifts his bat to hit a ball, the entire stadium starts echoing with his name. Every run, every wicket counts and marks an impact on the fan's heart. India has produced several cricket gems like Sunil Gavaskar, Kapildev, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli, M.S. Dhoni, and the list goes on and on. Apart from giving the world its finest players, India even contributes to the highest viewership of the sport.

Everything comes down to a single question, what makes cricket so popular in India. The answer is its natural, easy format and rules. The game can be played, and all you need is a bat and a ball. Cricket has brought people of every religion, caste, and creed together. It is played with equal passion by both rich and poor. Through several state and district level tournaments, good players are selected and given a chance on the nation and international level. The introduction of cricket in India can be traced back to its colonial days when the Britishers played the sport. Due to their long rule on the nation, Indians got acquainted with the game and welcomed it with open arms.

Presently, India is one of the international champions and has bagged the ICC World Cup twice. The Indian cricket team, however, is working hard to win the ICC World Cup 2019. The 12th edition of the ICC World Cup, 2019 is scheduled to be hosted by England and Wales from 30th May to 14th June. ICC had announced the entire schedule of the tournament. England is hosting the World Cup for the 5th time after 1975, 1979, 1983 and 1999. The matches are staged across 12 stadiums, with a total of 10 teams participating across the globe. The ICC World Cup  2019 will be held based on the round-robin format. The format was first witnessed in 1992 Benson & Hedges World Cup.
